Kevin Shank

President & CEO

Kevin Shank joined Pivot in 2015, and was appointed President in January 2016 and CEO in May of 2016.  He brings 20 years of senior leadership experience in the IT industry in sales, service operations, profit-loss management and acquisition integration.

Prior to joining Pivot, Mr. Shank spent nine years at CompuCom, most recently as Executive Vice President (EVP) and Chief Services Officer (CSO), with responsibility for leading approximately 9,000 of CompuCom’s 11,500 associates. Under his leadership, CompuCom grew to be one of the largest device management companies in North America (Gartner, 2013). Before his promotion to CSO, Mr. Shank served as Senior Vice President, Service Sales and Delivery. During this tenure, he and his teams created a significant return for stock holders, investors, and equity partners. He also co-led the integration of two major acquisitions. Mr. Shank joined CompuCom through the acquisition of GE’s IT Solutions (GE ITS) business unit. While at GE ITS, he led sales and operations for their largest services region.

Mr. Shank graduated with a dual bachelor’s degree in finance and marketing from Indiana University (FW).

Mike Flanagan

EVP, Integrated IT Services Portfolio & Technology Solutions

Mike Flanagan joined Pivot in May 2016 as the Executive Vice President of Integrated IT Services Portfolio & Technology Solutions focused on developing end user managed services and managing Pivot’s unified portfolio across four disciplines (end user, network, data center, and collaboration). Mr. Flanagan is responsible for continually developing and launching industry-leading advanced services that position Pivot as a leader in the IT services industry.

Prior to joining Pivot, Mr. Flanagan spent over 20 years at CompuCom working in various Business Development, IT Operations, Professional Services and Integration Center Services roles. Most recently, he served as the VP of End User Managed Operations Services, Product Development, and Strategic Direction in CompuCom’s largest business Unit: End User Enablement. Mr. Flanagan was responsible for maintaining and growing CompuCom’s $759 million EUE services portfolio, which was accomplished by developing and launching new services and managing an industry-leading service delivery capability for End Point Operation Management services.

Prior to joining CompuCom Mr. Flanagan spent 10 years in the Telco repair business at CTDI responsible for new product development and operational management for repair of central office and cellular-based equipment.

Mr. Flanagan also has participated in hundreds of strategic development and planning sessions with industry analyst and key leaders of large Fortune 1000 enterprise clients. Mr. Flanagan brings extensive enterprise experience in IT services development and service delivery management to the Pivot leadership team.

John Flores

Vice President, Marketing

John Flores joined Pivot Technology Solutions in August 2014 as Vice President of Marketing. He brings over 20 years of sales, marketing, and leadership experience within the IT channel, including more than 10 years with IBM to this role. Mr. Flores oversees Corporate Marketing at Pivot and is responsible for brand development, corporate vision, strategic pipeline development and partner relations.

Mr. Flores sits on advisory boards for EMC, Symantec and Arrow. He previously served as Vice President of Marketing and Business Development for Sigma Solutions. During his career, he has been involved in several mergers and acquisitions.

Mr. Flores holds a B.B.A. with a concentration in Finance and Marketing from St. Mary’s University in San Antonio, Texas and has completed executive programs concentrating on Marketing Strategy from Harvard Business School and Healthcare Informatics from Emory University.

Scott Gruendler

Chief Services Officer

Mr. Gruendler is Chief Services Officer for Pivot Technology Solutions where he oversees the strategy and delivery of services which are offered across the Pivot portfolio of companies. This Integrated Service Operations team delivers consistent high quality, high-value outcomes for customers based on industry-leading methodologies.

Additionally, Mr. Gruendler is President of Sigma Solutions which he has led through an important growth phase, including several acquisitions that broaden the scope of the company’s offerings while retaining its close focus on data center infrastructure.

He has been in the IT field since the late 1980s, working for a number of value-added resellers and combining business acumen with deep IT experience. In this role, Mr. Gruendler has built the combined services and IT product strategy that differentiates Sigma from its competition and has been instrumental in the company’s significant year-over-year growth.

Hunter Li

Co-Founder, President and Chief Executive Officer, TeraMach

Hunter Li is a Co-Founder of TeraMach, and has held the title of Chief Executive Officer and President since joining the company in 1996. He began his career in Hong Kong before moving to Canada and joining HP Ottawa. He holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration from the University of Alberta, and has over 25 years of sales and business development experience in the IT industry.

Under Mr. Li’s leadership, TeraMach’s reputation as an industry frontrunner has been solidified in North America. He is a charismatic visionary who has led the company’s growth from its roots as a dedicated HP VAR to a multi-vendor solution integrator, differentiated by expertise and technical competence. In addition to growing the Ottawa market, Mr. Li led the company’s expansion to Toronto in 2011, bringing a phenomenal 100% increase in revenue. His passion for developing trusted relationships with clients and his focus on customers’ success is the foundation of TeraMach’s culture. On a day-to-day basis, he is responsible for setting the company’s business strategy and direction as well as overseeing the execution of TeraMach’s business plan.

Mr. Li is a dynamic and inspiring leader who brings his incredible intensity, passion, and fun to all that he does. When he’s not at the office, he enjoys movies, shopping, travelling to Asia, and spending time with his wife and two daughters.

Matt Olson

Chief Strategy Officer

Matt Olson joined Pivot in February 2016 as Vice President of Service Solutions and was appointed Chief Strategy Officer in August 2016. As Strategy Officer, Mr. Olson is responsible for facilitating the development, communication and completion of key initiatives through the use of inclusive planning while ensuring the strategy elements drive improvements that will deliver value to Pivot’s associates, partners and shareholders.

Prior to joining Pivot, Mr. Olson spent over 20 years at CompuCom working in various services and sales leadership roles. Most recently, he served in Services & Sales Vice President roles supporting many of CompuCom’s largest customers in healthcare, finance, retail, energy, aviation, transportation and manufacturing. During his tenure, Mr. Olson helped to significantly grow the existing services business through the development, implementation and support of End User, Network and Data Center solutions, while playing instrumental roles in the addition of net new services customers.

He also participated in corporate initiatives specific to future state strategies for the organization related to sales and service reorganization, services portfolio development, benefits and compensation. Mr. Olson brings extensive enterprise experience in client governance, field services, project management, service operations, managed services and sales leadership to the Pivot portfolio.

Cory Reid

CIO

Shortly after its foundation in 2010, Mr. Reid was appointed Chief Information Officer of Pivot Technology Solutions.  As part of his role at Pivot, Mr. Reid has wide-ranging responsibilities in the business including creating and integrating cross-company standards for processes, technology, governance and systems for all acquisition companies.  He resides in Ireland and is the Managing Director of Pivot’s Irish Shared Services Center with ownership of the various Center of Excellence functions.

Prior to Pivot, Mr. Reid lived and worked in 9 countries around the world.  He has a strong enterprise solution and integration background at Fortune 500 firms including Nortel, AT&T, Oracle, Vodafone amongst others.  He also founded two software startups which were eventually sold.  Mr. Reid holds a Bachelor of Computer Science from Technical University of Nova Scotia in Halifax, Nova Scotia, Canada.

Kurt Steinhauer

President 
Applied Computer Solutions (ACS)

Kurt is an industry veteran with 25+ years of executive experience building and leading technology companies. During his tenure, ACS revenue increased from $137M to over $860M focusing on global enterprise accounts and service providers.

Prior to joining ACS, Kurt served as Senior Vice President of Sales and Business Development at MailFrontier (acquired by SNWL) where he helped launch the company, establish a field sales organization, and close two rounds of venture funding before being acquired by SNWL. Similarly, Kurt joined Actional Software (acquired by Progress Software) as Senior Vice President of Worldwide Sales where he successfully shifted its distribution strategy from OEM to direct and established offices throughout the U.S. and Europe. Kurt also has held executive management positions with Amplitude Software (acquired by Critical Path), MTI Technologies (IPO) and was AVP at Platinum Technologies (acquired by Computer Associates).

Kurt holds a BS degree in Business from the University of Tulsa.

David Toews

Interim CFO

Mr. Toews, who brings over 25 years of senior financial and strategic planning experience to Pivot, has extensive experience in all aspects of financial management, accounting and corporate reporting with a specialty in serving technology companies. He most recently served as CFO of Nightingale Informatix Corporation (a TSX-V listed company), and has also served as CFO of Enablence Technologies (TSX-V) and Leitch Technology (TSX).  He was the CFO at Leitch when it was acquired by Harris Corporation in 2005, providing shareholders with a significant return on investment.  Mr. Toews is a member of the Chartered Professional Accountants of Ontario, and holds a Bachelor of Commerce (Honours) from McMaster University.

John Anderson

Director and Chairman of the Audit Committee

Mr. John Anderson is a seasoned executive with both public and private company experience. He has been the CFO at LPBP Inc., a holding company, since May 2004. Formerly, Mr. Anderson was CFO at TriNorth Capital Inc., a TSXV traded company, and CFO at Impax Energy Services, which was traded on the TSX. Mr. Anderson also serves as director and chairman of the audit committee for both Neulion, Inc. and Marret Resources Corp., companies trading on the TSX, and formerly served as a director and chairman of the audit committee for TSX traded CMDF Canadian Medical Discoveries Fund Inc. Mr. Anderson is a chartered accountant regulated by the Canadian Institute of Chartered Accountants and holds a ICD.D designation from the Institute of Corporate Directors. He holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Toronto.

Wade K. Dawe

Chairman of the Board

Mr. Dawe is an accomplished entrepreneur, financier and investor based in Halifax, Nova Scotia, Canada. He currently serves as Chairman & CEO of Fortune Bay Corp., a TSX listed company formed in 2014. He has founded or co-founded a number of successful companies, including Keeper Resources, Inc. (2003) which was sold for $51.6 million in 2008, and Brigus Gold Corp. (2010) which was acquired by Primero Gold in 2014 in an all share deal valued at $351 million. Since 2005, Mr. Dawe has been actively involved as the principal financier of TSX listed biotechnology company Immunovaccine Inc., and serves on its Board of Directors and as Chair of its finance committee. He holds a Bachelor of Commerce degree from Memorial University (MUN), where he serves on the Advisory Board to the Faculty of Business Administration. His philanthropic activities include establishing and personally funding the annual James R. Pearcey Entrepreneurial Scholarship at MUN. Mr. Dawe, originally from Newfoundland, is also a member of the Young Presidents’ Organization (YPO), an international organization for business leaders.

Matt Girardot

General Counsel and Corporate Secretary

Mr. Girardot is responsible for supporting company growth and shareholder value by using his business acumen and legal experience to provide effective legal counsel to the Pivot leadership team.  His duties include managing general legal matters for Pivot, negotiating mergers and acquisitions, managing litigation matters, administering TSX regulatory filings, ensuring the integrity of the corporate governance framework and implementing decisions made by the Pivot Board of Directors. Mr. Girardot successfully closed Pivot’s acquisition of TeraMach Technologies and led Pivot’s graduation to the Toronto Stock Exchange.  He joins Pivot from one of the largest privately held companies in the United States, Mansfield Energy Corp., where he helped transform the legal department by implementing a legal solutions platform to prioritize, manage and track the use of legal resources within the business.  Prior to Mansfield, Mr. Girardot spent six years in private practice representing business clients and financial institutions on transactional, regulatory and other corporate law matters.  Mr. Girardot holds a BA in Finance from the University of Georgia Terry College Of Business and a JD from the University of Georgia School of Law.  Mr. Girardot is a member of the State Bar of Georgia and admitted to practice in the Supreme Court of Georgia and the Eleventh Circuit Court of Appeals.

Stephen Moore

Director

Mr. Moore has more than 30 years of experience in the securities industry. He currently acts as Managing Director at Newhaven Asset Management Inc., an investment management firm dedicated to providing specialized advisory services. Previously, he was a Vice President for Burns Fry Ltd., Lancaster Financial Inc. and TD Securities, where he held a number of functional responsibilities including research, sales and trading, and corporate finance. He was a founder and Managing Director of Kensington Capital Partners, a firm specializing in private equity advisory services. He serves as a director of CI Financial Corp. and is a trustee of the Advantaged Preferred Share Trust. Mr. Moore has a B.A. (Economics) and an MBA from Queens University.

M. Lazane Smith

Director

M. Lazane Smith is a seasoned executive with experience working in varied industries, including 20 years in the technology products and services industry. Her broad-based background includes nine years as a public company Chief Financial Officer and 30+ years of financial management experience, including leading M&A and restructuring activities. She has managed diverse functions, including finance, accounting, investor relations, corporate development, human resources, customer service and support, legal, facilities, real estate, and IT.

Ms. Smith held positions as Sr. Vice President Finance and CFO for CompuCom Systems Inc. in Dallas TX, from 1993 to 2005, served as interim CFO for DocuCorp International, Dallas, TX, from 2005 to 2006, Sr. Vice President at Gateway, Inc., Irvine CA, from 2006 to 2008; Sr. Vice President, Corporate Development for Unisys, Corp. from 2009 to 2015, and is currently serving as Chief Human Resources Officer for VIOX Health in Atlanta, GA.

Ms. Smith has served as a member of the Board of Directors of two U.S. publicly traded companies: four years as an independent director with Global Imaging Systems and three years as an inside director with CompuCom Systems.

Douglas Stuve

Director and Chairman of the Compensation, Corporate Governance and Nominating Committee

Mr. Douglas M. Stuve is a partner with the law firm Burstall Winger LLP of Calgary, Alberta. Prior to joining Burstall Winger LLP in 1993, Mr. Stuve articled in Toronto with the firm Davies Ward & Beck. Mr. Stuve’s principal area of practice is corporate finance and securities law, as well as general corporate commercial law. He is a member of the Securities Law and Business Law Subsections of the Canadian Bar Association (Alberta Branch). Mr. Stuve has served as a member of an advisory committee to The Alberta Stock Exchange and was part of the advisory committee in Calgary, Alberta to the Canadian Venture Exchange Inc., now TSX Venture Exchange Inc., to assist in formulating policy prior to and after its formation in November 1999. Mr. Stuve has served as a director of several public companies and is currently Chairman of Athabasca Minerals Inc., and a director of Border Petroleum Corp., Chelsea Acquisition Corporation and E.G. Capital Inc.

Mr. Stuve is a past director of several public companies, including Patfind Inc., the first Capital Pool Company offering completed on the predecessor to TSX Venture, as well as Deepwell Energy Services Trust (TSX), Tesoro Energy Corp. (TSX), Kelso Energy Inc., Colonia Energy Corp., Regal Energy Inc., Cascadia International Resources Inc., International Technologies Corporation, Sabrich Capital Corporation, Yangarra Resources Ltd., Amalfi Capital Corporation and Lime Hill Capital Corporation. Mr. Stuve holds a Bachelor of Arts degree (with distinction) from the University of Alberta and a Bachelor of Laws degree (LL.B) from Queen’s University, Kingston, Ontario.
